I am honored to hold the position as the Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Chennai when the relationship between Korea and India are fast expanding and strengthening.
With more than 300 Korean companies and 5,000 Korean people in Chennai, the Korean community is the largest expatriate within India. Korea and Tamil Nadu holds a lot of traditional and cultural similarities - beginning from rice as our staple consumption, family values, and importance of education. These similarities along with the economic ties have only strengthened the relationship further.
These days in India, Korean products are present at each and every home and office, and every fifth car running on the Indian roads is manufactured by Korean automobile companies.
The Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Chennai will be committed to promote cooperation in the area of economic, cultural and personal exchanges with South India(Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Puducherry). We will make our efforts to increase awareness of Korea and Korean culture in South India. The Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Chennai will offer best services to Korean residents and companies, as well as provide necessary protection to overseas Korean nationals.
